If you are going to use an ios app to publish content you will need to reset your local wordpress password.
( yes you can log in with google but your local password is not saved until your add it to your profile)
Go to:
Dashboard – All Posts – quick edit – add a check mark in the box beside “make this post sticky.
In SchoolsBlogs you have lots of control over the visibility of your site.
To check/change this setting, goto dashboard – settings – reading and then select the preferred visibility option.

This plugins name is misleading. Google Doc embedder does not access files in your google account. This plugin takes documents that have been uploaded into your WP media library ( Add Media tab ) and then displays them using a google viewer window.
If you are getting a GDE profile error when you upload an attachment and try to display it with the GDE shortcode, the solution is to deactivate and then re-activate the GDE plugin.
How To:
This plugin is connected directly to your Google App’s drive folder and allows you to display files stored in Google Drive within a WP post. The document permissions follow the settings in Google and are controlled by your google account. ( Add Google File tab )
WordPress allows users to copy and paste the link of any YouTube video directly into their page/post. This link will automatically be turned into a viewable video.
If you want to use an embed code to add video, a calendar or photo album to your posts, please make sure that you have gone through the process to get your site upgraded to “Student” “Teacher” or “Power User”. A free/basic site will not allow embed codes to be entered.
If your site has been upgraded, you should be able to click on the “TEXT” tab and paste your code.
It is possible to upload most file types to our WordPress server but the limiting factor with video is size. The upload limit size on our server is 256mB / upload. This means that your ipad videos will need to be very short ( around 1 min) or encoded and compressed to a smaller file size. There are several app’s that can simplify this process. Check out “Video Slimmer” as a possible solution to file size.
After you upload a video, starting with WordPress 3.6 you can simply copy and paste any “.MP4” video url into its own line in your post. This will allow the video to be viewed from an embedded player. All other movie codex (ie .mov, .wmv, .mV4) will only appear as a link to the video and no player will be launched. Our SchoolBlogs server also has a built in video encoder that will process your videos into a viewable standard. If you find that your video’s are not playing within the post and can only be downloaded, then try the Video Encode function….
Option 1 – if the videos are still on the ipods, use the Google Drive App and upload the video into your “drive”. (use the file upload option from camera roll) After the video renders in your drive, take the embed code for the video and paste it into your post or use the ” add Google File” tab on the top of the post/page.
It is a good idea to use “video slimmer” to reduce the file size of any file that you are uploading to google drive within the school network. Google uploads the “RAW” file and then encodes it with multiple viewing rates. These “RAW” video files preserve video quality but place a large demand on the wire infrastructure.
Option 2 – use a desktop encoding tool, and encode all of your student videos that are larger than 256MB and then post on WordPress (this could take up to 10 minutes/video on an older machine)
If you want to organize your links and separate them into their own widget, you will need to create “Link Categories” and then assign you links to the correct category.

It is also possible to rename a category after it has been created. For example, you can change the Widget “Blogroll” to “Class 8-5 Portfolios” by editing in the Links categories tab.

There are a couple of ways to add users to your WordPress site when you are using SchoolBlogs
Preferred Option:
Have the students log into the SchoolBlogs server to create a local account and then add them as an existing user.
Alternate Option:
Teachers can log in for each of the students in their class to create the account for them and then add them as an existing user.
Third Option:
Contact your inhouse wordpress support person or Scott Mahan at sgmahan@rockyview.ab.ca for directions on how to bulk upload users into the system.
if the users exists on the serve then use the “add existing users” option.
dashboard - users - add existing users - type in their email address (@rvschools for students and @rockyview for staff) - select their role and then scroll to bottom of page and click "next"
Summary of Roles
Super Admin – Someone with access to the blog network administration features controlling the entire network (See Create a Network).
Administrator – Somebody who has access to all the administration features
Editor – Somebody who can publish and manage posts and pages as well as manage other users’ posts, etc.
Author – Somebody who can publish and manage their own posts
Contributor – Somebody who can write and manage their posts but not publish them
Subscriber – Somebody who can only manage their profile and make comments on a page or post that has “commenting” turned on
Assigning User Roles

You and change a users role one at a time or select multiple users and do a mass change

After you delete the site, you will have to go to your email and follow the link to finish the deletion process.
