Walk and Talk Protocol

Guided Discussions during Physical Activity

By asking a provocative open ended question or prompt, you can allow students to walk and discuss these questions. A good trick is to send them with sticky notes to leave at a pre-arranged place on their path with an answer to a question (and to pick up another one!).

Walk, run, skip, hop or jump to the answer!

Step 1: Set up your pathway for students to take. Post questions along your route for students to answer along their walk.

Step 2: Pose a thought provoking question to start the walk.

Step 3: Set the kids on pathway, with sticky notes and pencils to answer their questions.

Step 4:  Go!
