Dear Future Grade 5 Students

Dear Future Grade 5 Students,

Hi my name is Lindsay and my topic for Exhibition was Immunizations vs non Immunizations. This year the central idea was “Society’s responsibility is to build a physically and mentally healthy community.”

One piece of advice for you is to stay on task! My group wasn’t on task all the time. We each lost our iPad once one of my group members. Was playing a video game and lost hers. I was trying to get her off of it but my teacher didn’t understand and he took mine too. My other group member was misusing her iPad and she got it taken away.

My second piece of advice for you is to get along with your group. Even if your with people who make you uncomfortable or don’t work well with you. Even if their your best friend you need to work with them. I was with someone who argues with me a lot and makes me unhappy. I worked with her and it wasn’t as bad as I thought.

My last piece of advice is to have fun and don’t be nervous just relax. You and your group researched this topic for 9 weeks so you will be experts on your topic. You may not think you can remember all the information but it’s in your brain waiting for Exhibition.

Best Wishes,

Lindsay

LS Final Reflection

I’m proud of myself and my group I think we made a great effort and we were ready! I am proud of how well we did during Exhibition night. I am also very proud of our art. The most challenging thing was probably staying on task. The second most challenging thing was working with my group, we didn’t get along all the time. The least challenging task was probably was doing our art we couldn’t decide who would do what. To be honest our interview was not as fun as I thought it would be but, it was kind of cool we got to see the fridges that the immunizations are kept in. Interviews are kind of fun because we got to go off school grounds to go meet an expert on our topic. Sylvia (the person we interviewed) gave us lots of answers and we got a lot more of our research done and questions answered. It is important to interview experts on our topic because they know all about our topic and can give us lots of information on our topic. It is also important to interview experts because they know how to explain what their talking about. Another reason we interview people is because if there is a question that even the internet can’t answer the expert probably can. One thing I gained was more knowledge on my topic and a few other things. I also gained some new friends. My goal for Exhibition was to get along with my group this was sort of achieved, I was with someone who argues with me a lot and makes me unhappy I worked with her and it wasn’t as bad as I thought.

LS week 8 Reflection

We got all of our art done and we are rehearsing our research conversations and we are ready for exhibition.
I’m proud of our work I think everything turned out great.
When we really concentrated we made a great team.
I think our trifold turned out great one thing I like about it is the part that says this is what doctors use” because we added some stuff that a doctor might use when giving immunizations.

Lindsay Week 5 and 6 Reflections

Week 5 (above)

Week 6 (below)

I found coming up with interview questions challenging because we researched most of our questions for a nurse.
TD skills that are important in Exhibition are Research skills, Self Management skills, Communication skills & Thinking skills.
Exhibition inspires me to tell everyone about immunizations and my action is making a book about immunizations.
