AN Dear Future Grade 5 Students

Dear Future Grade 5 Students,

My name is Alex, and my topic is Clean Water and Sanitation. Our Who We Are Central Idea is: Society’s Responsibility is to build a physically and mentally healthy community.

A piece of advice that you could use is stay on task. If another group talks to you, just move away because you won’t stay on task, and close to the end of exhibition you won’t have that much done because you talked to the other group. So you would rush. But hopefully you will get a lot done.

Another piece of advice that I would give to you is cooperate with your group well. Suddenly your group members are fighting and don’t know what to do to help. Your group will only get little done and by the exhibition day, when you present to the parents your presentation will be boring as a baboon. Also your group will get in trouble because your group was fighting.

The last piece of advise that I will give you is don’t work with your best friend because you will only talk to your friend. You won’t get work done. You will also play games. You will be in trouble. Please don’t go in your timer/stopwatch because you will be caught some time.

Sincerely,

Alex

Final Blog Post

I am proud of finishing my work in time. I am also proud of doing my walk for water and walking around the entire soccer field. I’m also proud of staying on task and getting work done. Lastly I’m proud of not being nervous interviewing a adult.

What was was challenging was finding all the information for our questions. There were to many websites to go threw and all the books to got threw. Also another thing that is challenging is creating a good lines of inquiry, it was really hard.

Interviewing people isn’t that nervous, and the person that your interning is really kind. Also the interviewer gives us a lot of good information and answers our questions.the interviewer doesn’t waste our time.

It is important to interview people because some websites give us false information. Also the interviewer is a professional so he’ll give the right information. It is also important to interview because that is the main source of information.

I gained knowledge from this. Also I gain the chance to inform other people to be more knowledgeable. I gain a chance to practise to not be nervous talking to other people.

AN Week 8 Reflection

We made a poster it took a pretty long time but we made it. It has a water drop in the middle and a DIY jerry can in the bottom right. Also there was a two liter bottle on the bottoms right. Mrs. Fisher didn’t print out map images about water systems in chestermere but we might do it soon. We didn’t have that much time to work on the poster but We did it on time.

For our display we are going to make a water filter using coal, sand, and pebbles/gravel, bottle and a shirt. We’re also going to put the DIY jerry can on display and we might make a stand.

We’re not very organized we had stuff everywhere and it took a very long time to clean outer mess up. We had so many paper everywhere.

We kept reading our research. I don’t think I remember everything. We had too much information to remember.

We really didn’t have time to rehearse. We had to use all the time to work on out poster.

Thank you to our mentor, Mrs. Fisher. She helped us a lot. She helped us on our action.

Alex Reflection #5

Exhibition is important because we find a problem in the world and we do research about it. Then we inform people about it because not many people know about the problem so they could have knowledge and understand how bad the problem is. Also it could make you and others more knowledgeable and having more knowledge is better than having non. We also do a action bank and try to find a answer to the problem and maybe solve it. Also People will focus and solve the problem knowing that the problem is happening.

We do exhibition because we need inform ourselves and others. We also do it because we need to be more knowledgeable and it helps us be more cooperative and to know our partners better and make friends. We also do it to take action and figure ways we could solve the problem in our action bank.

Some of the skills I used throughout the process of exhibition were self management skills. I used that skill when another group talked to me and my group so we moved to a different place. I also stayed on tasked and do what I’m supposed to do. I also used thinking skills when my group had to type in what we should say to our interviewer. Another skill I used was social skills. I cooperated with my group and I worked with them and help them out when their stuck and having trouble with something. Also another skill I used is research skills when we had to do research to answer the questions we created. The last skill I used was communication skills. When I talk to my group and helped my group members and ask them for help.
