Dear Future Grade 5 Students,
Hi my name is Alex and I am here to write too you about exhibition.
Before exhibition you and the other classes come together and you make a Central Idea and the grade 5 students this year chose- Society’s responsibility is to build a physically and mentally healthy community. My topic for exhibition was anxiety and depression. I chose this topic because I wanted to research something I have never heard of and when I saw the topic anxiety and depression I chose it because I wanted to learn more about it. I writing to give you some tips and what you should be prepared for in
First of all stay on task because if you’re not on task exhibition is going to be a nightmare but if you are on task and you use you brain exhibition won’t be as hard as the people who aren’t on task. If you are fooling around you can get your iPad taken away and that sucks because in exhibition iPads are super important because if you don’t have them you won’t have anywhere to put your research, resources, your action, interview questions and key concept questions If other groups are fooling around just walk away because you don’t want to get in trouble. Now remember to use your time wisely.
Second of all work good with you group or your partner because if you don’t work
good with them, on exhibition night your not going to have a good presentation because you could tell if you weren’t working together or you guys were struggling during exhibition because you won’t know that much about your topic because you were arguing the whole time.
Finally just have fun because exhibition is hard and stressful but remember all those tips I told you so when you’re ahead you can do your action which is pretty fun while some other groups were fooling around and then getting in trouble.
I hope you do awesome on exhibition and don’t get nervous because come exhibition night your going to rock it.
What was the biggest challenge during the exhibition process?
Probally staying on task because when your just doing research for almost 3 hours everyday your guaranteed to get bored so you just want to have a little fun but that could get you in trouble. Me and my partner should of moved away so we didn’t get in trouble but we didn’t.
How did you work to solve or overcome that challenge?
We ended up getting our iPads taken away so then we knew we had to get serious or we won’t get it done. When we got our iPads back we were focus and and more serious and our presentation went great!
What was the most important, interesting or meaningful aspect of Exhibition for you? Why?
Finding out stuff I never knew before about my topic anxiety and depression. The process of exhibition was amazing because of all the hard work and time we put really made us sound and feel like adults during the presentation.
What would you do differently, or be more mindful of if you could experience Exhibition again?
Be more on task so we won’t be under a lot of stress and pressure. The iPads are one of the most important part about exhibition because without them you wouldn’t have anywhere to put your research, resources, your action, interview questions and key concept questions.
What advice and suggestions would you like to give to the students who will work through Exhibition next year?
Stay on task because if you’re not on task exhibition is going to be a nightmare but if you are on task and you use you brain exhibition won’t be as hard as the people who aren’t on task. Don’t be nervous because come exhibition night your going to rock it.
I think me and Marcus spoke really clearly and loud because we knew that if we wanted people to come to our station we had to make sense and hope people understood us so that’s why we made sure to speak up a bit. We also knew a lot about our topic so when ever the audience asked us a question we immediately answered because our knowledge about our topic was really high because we have been studying this topic for 10 weeks.
Before the exhibition showcase I was anxious, stressed, worried and nervous because I was a freaking out that we had to talk to the parents but after a while I felt better because after I did it a couple times I just got used to it. I should probably stop worrying before because that carry’s on into the presentation.
How would you describe Exhibition?
I personally think that exhibition is VERY stressful because we have time a limit on when we have to finish the project and there are tons of stuff you have to do so you really need to use your time wisely which is a part of our self-management skills
What does the Exhibition provide us?
It gives us more our knowledge about the topic we have chosen to study for 10 weeks and in the future we will have to present a presentation and have to do a lot of research and interview professionals.
What is something that people might not know about exhibition?
That exhibition seems like it’s only 6 weeks because on like the last 3 weeks your freaking out to make sure it’s all done and you have so much work to organize. You also might not know that you have a mentor who helps you set interviews and helps organize you work.
Describe what are your main ideas/focus that have come out of your discussion this week.
Im exited for presenting my topic to the school and parents and also working with my new exhibition partner.
I hope my groups research and interviews payed off during the presentation and I also hope we finish on time.
This topic is important to me because I do get mad sometimes and I’m very sensitive so I think if I learn more about anxiety and depression I can control my anger properly.
My topic is anxiety and depression.
