I’ve put my French numbers video onto Myblueprint. Can I ask my parents to watch it, read my reflections and make a comment?

Please read the following message from the office that they’ve asked us to pass along:

Coming to school every day is important for the academic and social success of your children. Many parents do not realize how quickly absences add up and that it only takes two absences each month for children to begin to struggle. If a child misses 18 days a year, by the time they reach grade 9, they will have missed a full year of instruction. In the same way you keep track of the marks your children get, monitoring school attendance and working with teachers to improve the attendance of your children is important. It does not matter if your children are in Preschool or Grade 12, school every day matters. One of the questions parents struggle with is when is my child too sick for school?

Send me to school if:

· I have a runny nose or just a little cough, but no other symptoms.

· I haven’t taken any fever reducing medicine for 24 hours, and I haven’t had a fever during that time.

· I haven’t thrown up or had diarrhea for 24 hours.

· If I can drink fluids and my fever is below 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

· If my eyes are only slightly pink and the discharge is clear or watery.

· If I have a sore throat accompanied by a runny nose. This is often just due to simple irritation from the draining mucus.

· If I have a stomach ache and it is my only symptom. It could signal constipation or even a case of nerves.

Keep me home if:

· I have a temperate higher than 100 degrees Fahrenheit – even after taking medicine.

· I am throwing up or have diarrhea.

· My eyes are pink and crusty.

Call the doctor if:

· I have a temperature higher than 100 degrees Fahrenheit for more than two days.

· I have been throwing up and having diarrhea for more than two days.

· I had the sniffles for more than a week, or they aren’t getting better.

· I still have asthma symptoms after using my asthma medicine.
