Comparing Quantities

In Math, the students are exploring ways of comparing quantities. They are practicing using the terms: inequality, equality, balanced, unbalanced, greater than, less than, same as; as well as using the =, <, > symbols.


Shoe Tying

For parents with children struggling to tie their laces, I am posting a video clip of an alternative method that may make the process easier. Coordination and fine motor skills make this right of passage difficult, however, with continued practice and a few tricks, it can be done!

Repeating Patterns

In Math this week, we wrapped up our repeating patterns unit. Grade One students learned how to identify the core of a repeating pattern, label elements using letters, as well as extend, create and translate patterns.
