Estimation Station

Yesterday, we started talking about estimating. After talking and practicing a LOT of skip counting by 2s, 5s, and 10s all the way to 100, we learned how important skip counting can be when estimating! I wonder what things there are to estimate at home and how you guessed the answer! Don’t forget, the key word is “ABOUT” because we are guessing a number, not finding out the actual number 🙂

I estimated the tiles at my front door.I counted 6 tiles across and 13 rows. I know that 6 times 10 rows is 60 so I estimate that there are 90 tiles by my front door.
